South African team has ensured that their test pinnacle shall be untouched by any other team in the forthcoming couple of months after winning their test series against Pakistan 3-0. South Africa are now unbeaten in tests for more than one and a half years now. After winning the third test against Pakistan, South African captain Graeme Smith became the first captain in test history to have 50 wins in his name. An elated looking Smith exclaimed that he was happy to have done so and even more proud to have done that as a South African. Despite of such unprecedented performances, Smith will not be seen in this year’s ipl schedule.
Graeme Smith has played for Pune Warriors India during the last season of the IPL and has been a part of each of the last 5 seasons of the league until yet. However, this continuity has now come to an end since Smith won’t be seen in ipl 6. Instead, Smith will be seen in the English county. Smith would be leading the English county side of Surrey. Smith confirmed the news after winning the final test in the series against Pakistan.
Smith said that he is looking forward to something different, captaining an English county team, after having played in the IPL for last five seasons. Smith has eclipsed Ricky Ponting’s record tally of 48 test match victories during the series win against Pakistan. On the other hand, Ponting would seen captaining Mumbai Indians in ipl 2013.
